Thank you for thinking about how you can support us.
St. Saviour’s is a truly special place, offering a witness to God’s love and a welcome to all.
In response to God’s love, we are called to live gratefully and generously and that includes using our time, our abilities and our money in God’s service.
How can you help support our church? We have summarised a few ways below. Please contact us if you want to find out any more information or ask any questions.
PRAYER
Whether you are a regular attendee at our services or if you are housebound and unable to attend our worship you can still support St. Saviour’s with your prayers. Prayer is a vital part of our church community and commitment to God. We pray for each other, the local community, anything and everything. Please never underestimate the power of prayer!
TIME & TALENTS
There are many ways we can use our time and talents to help here at St. Saviour’s. From cleaning to gardening, singing to flower arranging, visiting the sick and housebound. Everyone has a vital part to play in the life of our church. If you feel that you have something to offer, or if you would like to help but are not sure how, please just ask the vicar – she will be delighted to make suggestions!
JOIN OUR CHURCH ELECTORAL ROLL
If you are a regular church attender and over 16, you are very welcome to be entered on our Church Electoral Roll – please just ask for a membership form. To put it simply, the Electoral Roll is a church membership list which entitles you to vote at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting at which the members of the Parochial Church Council are elected.
YOUR MONEY
It costs nearly £2,000 a week to keep our church open and running smoothly. Our church is not just for the regular congregation but for anyone in the wider community and beyond when they need it. It is a personal decision as to how much to give. We should consider giving in proportion to what we have.
FUNDS
Owing to Covid-19 our church funds have greatly declined and we hope to begin fund-raising once the government allows it. If, in the meantime, you would like to make a donation (however small), please do so using the donate button below. Thank you.
REGULAR PLANNED GIVING
is the most helpful way to donate to St. Saviour’s. It allows us to plan our finances efficiently. This can be done by regular bank standing order or by using the envelopes provided by the Church Treasurer. Whatever you can give, however large or small, will be greatly appreciated. If you can Gift Aid your donation it will further increase in value by 25%.
If you wish to make a donation today then please either click the donate button below or scan the QR code. Thank you.
WILLS AND LEGACIES
Have you considered leaving a proportion of your estate as a gift in your Will to our church? A gift in your Will can really make a difference and would be a valuable and lasting way to continue your generosity to our church. In the past, people have helped us by leaving a legacy, thereby enabling us to purchase equipment and items that improve the quality of our worship here at St. Saviour’s. Visit www.churchlegacy.org.uk or telephone 08445 870875 to order a free pack from the Church of England’s Legacy & Wills Information Line.
In addition we hold many social, fundraising events throughout the year – these are fun. You can find what’s coming up on our calendar, but also have a look at our Facebook page, which we regularly update with social event photographs. Please support us by coming along and enjoying fellowship. Perhaps even bring along someone new to help our lovely church continue to grow and thrive!
